In Memory of Dean Eggert

Lion Dean was the epitome of a Lion.  From the first time he met you until your last
memory with him, always a smile, always giving of himself, and always above all else
giving back to the communities that he lived in and loved.  He started out as an
Electrician and eventually became a State Electrical Inspector.  Dean loved his work,
not for the long hours, but he did it because he cared.  He always had advice for the
people at the jobs he would go to inspect, whether it was a short cut, a better way,
or a trick that would save time and money.  Dean cared so much for the work that he
did and the safety of those he was entrusted to watch out for, that he would work 16
hour days to assure that people were safe in "HIS" area.

Dean also served the city of St. Michael for 11 years, first as a Planning Commission
Member and mostly as a Board Member.  Always his top concern was "are we
doing what is right for the citizen of St. Michael?"  It could be a park, a new street, a
new development, or a minor improvement; it had to be done right and for the right
price.

Deans second love of his life was the Rogers Lions Club.  No matter what, no matter
when, no matter where, if he was asked his advice, you not only got the advice, but
Dean came with it, free of charge.  He would take hours out of his day to help a
person he barely knew.  He was one of the founding members of Rockin Rogers
(our largest fund raiser) and he put in long hours for that event.  For the 8 months
leading up to it he attended untold meetings making sure all plans were in place and
all activities covered.  Then when the event came up, it was the Dean and Don show,
a straight 4 days and 60 hours of those two smiling, collecting the money, chatting
and watching over the entire event to make sure that the Rogers Lions and Rockin
Rogers were a success.

Deans Primary love of his life was his wife Lynn and their three children Brandon,
Jeff, and Laura.  If you ever wanted to distract Dean off of a topic, you only had to
ask about Lynn or one of his children.  Everything Dean did was to make his
community and the world his children and grand children will grow up in a better
place.
